Q&A
-
Do you help in finding accommodation?
Yes, if needed, we assist in finding accommodation either through us or an external company.
What does the accommodation look like?
It is a single room with a shared kitchen and bathroom, but there is an option to arrange independent accommodation through an external company (the cost in this case will be higher than average).
What do I need to bring to Norway?
You should bring sheets, a bedspread, towels (in some cases, a pillow and duvet may also be needed, and you will be informed in advance).
When do I need to pay for the first month of accommodation?
If the accommodation is rented through Adecco Norge AS, the cost will be deducted from your salary. If rented through an external company, you will arrange payment with a consultant.
Transport from the accommodation to work – how does it work? Who pays for it?
In most locations, public transportation is available. For some projects (especially in construction), you may be eligible for a reimbursement of travel costs exceeding 7.5 km according to the tariff table.
-
When will I receive and sign my contract?
You will receive the contract before arriving in Norway, after sending the confirmation of your arrival. It can be signed manually and scanned or digitally through the Adecco Time portal.
What is the duration of the contract?
The contract is permanent, but it consists of two integral parts - an employment contract with Adecco (arbeidsavtale) and an assignment confirmation (oppdragsbekreftelse) with detailed information about the first project.
How many hours can I work per week?
The standard weekly working hours are 37.5 hours, plus an unpaid 2.5-hour break per week. For some projects additional hours are optional.
What is the notice period?
For up to 6 months of work, the notice period is 2 weeks; after 6 months, it is a one-month.
-
When will I receive my first salary?
In the first settlement period, which covers your working time. Payments are made every two weeks according to the payroll calendar applicable to all Adecco employees. To receive your salary, you must have a valid Norwegian personal number (temporary or permanent) and an active tax card for the current year.
Do I need a Norwegian bank account to receive my salary?
No, but you must have a bank account registered in IBAN format with a SWIFT code (for international transfers). You must be the owner or co-owner of the account.
-
How to become a member of the Norwegian tax system?
You need to visit the tax office in Norway, where you will receive a temporary Norwegian personal number and a tax card.
How much tax will I pay?
The tax system depends on various factors, including the length of your planned stay. You can read more about taxes at the following link: https://www.skatteetaten.no/en/person/taxes/tax-deduction-card-and-advance-tax/
Do you help with obtaining the personal number and other documents?

Yes, as with the signing of the Norwegian employment contract, you become a participant in the insurance system.
Is my family outside of Norway covered by insurance?
This does not happen automatically. Please contact your national provider first.
What is included in my insurance package?
It depends on the company you work for (for example, Adecco Solutions AS, ADECCO Norge AS, ADECCO Industri AS, BHC Construction AS).
